Representatives, Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo (Bukoy), has congratulated the Chairmen and Councillors within the Constituency on their victories in last weekend’s local government election in Osun State.


In a statement on Monday by his Media Office in Osogbo, Hon. Oyewo said: “We celebrate yet another significant points in the political advancement of our great party, APC. It’s indeed victory earned and well deserved


“No better way to express and restate the strategic, relentless and undaunted drive of the party and its given template, which continues to build the party’s desirable large empire.


“Another big history, landslide win and party success recorded at our polls, both with our Constituency and the entire State.


 “I am particularly impressed with the orderly manner with which voters and OSSIEC officials as well as the people of the state conducted themselves throughout the process.”


The lawmaker added that, “While I felicitate with you, I want to urge you all to see the mandates freely given to you by the electorate as a call to serve, and do your best to justify the confidence reposed in you.”


Hon. Oyewo who described the local government as a critical tier, urged the newly elected LGA and LCDA helmsmen to live above board and provide viable leadership that will impact positively on the lives of people at the grassroots in line with the vision and ideals of the APC and the present administration in the state and Country.


Noting that it was with joy and fulfillment that he and the entire people of the Federal Constituency share in this success. Hon. Oyewo thanked the party leadership for the “ever unrelenting strength, support, proper discharge of efforts and push at all times.”


The lawmaker also commended the party members and chieftains for what he described as “unbridled loyalty and formidable tradition that’s geared towards common good and prosperity.”

Empowerment: Bukoy Sponsors Industrial Oil Palm Production and Processing Training for Constituents


Lawmaker representing Osogbo/Olorunda/Irepodun/Orolu Federal Constituency, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has once again empowered several individuals in his domain with agricultural training and inputs.


This latest intervention of Rep Oyewo was done through a training course in Oil Palm Farming and Production put together in partnership with Federal Co-operative College, Ibadan. 


The programme, which was held from Monday 3rd to Friday 7th of October in Osogbo and Orolu area of Osun State, was attended by a good number of youths and women taken from all political wards of the Constituency. Beneficiaries were trained on modern methods and techniques of oil palm farming, production and processing.



A technical partner and instructor at the five-day session, Dr John Ayinla, told participants that oil palm production has become a very lucrative business in Nigeria and across the world. Dr Ayinla noted that in addition to high demand of oil palm for preparing meals, around seventy percent of personal care products including soap, shampoo, makeup, and lotion, contain ingredients derived from palm oil. 


At the end of the event, participants were provided with starter packs such as oil palm seedlings, cash and training manuals as a guide.


High-capacity kernel processing machines were also installed at oil palm production centers across Osogbo Federal Constituency.


In a press statement issued by his media and publicity team on Friday, Rep Olubukola Oyewo revealed that the scheme was initiated as a part of efforts to ensure food security, alleviate poverty and boost job creation in Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun and Orolu.


According to the legislator, "I remain committed towards providing opportunities and programs geared towards improving the wellbeing and welfare of my constituents".


“I believe in sustainable empowerment schemes rather than temporary and momentary intervention programs. This is a major reason why we have selected productive and lucrative ventures to empower the teeming unemployed individuals in Osogbo Federal Constituency, ” he said.


A beneficiary from Olorunda area, Musibau Layi, expressed delight and appreciation over the gesture of the APC chieftain, describing the training he received as a worthwhile and life-changing experience.


Second phase of the empowerment exercise is scheduled to take place later in the month of October.

Rep Olubukola Oyewo Sends Eid-el-Kabir Greetings To Muslims, Calls For Selfless Sacrifice

Member representing Oṣogbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has enjoined Muslim faithful to demonstrate the virtue of selfless sacrifice as they celebrate this year's Eid-el-Kabir festival.



In a statement issued in Oṣogbo yesterday by Rep Oyewo's media and publicity team, the lawmaker said: "While I join my Muslim brothers and sisters to celebrate this holy day, I urge you all to reflect on the essence of the festival. Eid-el-Kabir presents an opportunity for us to ponder over the faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, who willingly agreed to sacrifice his cherished son in obedience to the command of Allah."


The federal parliamentarian called on Nigerians to eschew all forms of recrimination and imbibe self-sacrifice, forgiveness and other higher virtues that promote national unity and development.


Rep. Olubukola Oyewo further charged all Muslims across his domain to pray for a peaceful, violence-free and successful 2022 Osun gubernatorial election. According to him, “In the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir celebration, I enjoin our Muslim brothers and sisters to pray for a hitch-free Osun governorship poll”. 


Oyewo, while seeking the people's continued support for his political party, APC and its candidate in the July 16 governorship election, urged residents to complement Governor Oyetola's efforts in building a greater Osun that will work for all through the developmental agenda of his administration.

SCOBA Commends Bukoy's Giant Stride in Education, Names Classroom Block After Him

In recognition of his support for a wide range of charitable causes, achievements and efforts, especially those related to improving quality of education across his domain, the old students of Saint Charles Grammar School in Oṣogbo have named a recently completed classroom block in their alma mater after Rep Olubukola Oyewo.



Renowned for his commitment towards enhancing the state of infrastructure in public schools within his territory, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, who represents Oṣogbo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, was accorded this recognition by Saint Charles Old Boys Association (SCOBA) for facilitating the construction of the building named after him.


Rep. Oyewo, who is also an ex-student of Saint Charles, has for several years now contributed immensely towards the advancement of the foremost citadel of learning.


In a letter addressed to the parliamentarian on 30th May 2022 and jointly signed by the President and General Secretary of SCOBA, the association stated that, "It is indeed our privilege to inform you that the building will on Friday, June 3, 2022- our Founders' Day, be named in your honor as 'Charlean(Hon) Bukola Oyewo Block', as a token of our Association's appreciation of your good deeds".


Reacting to the gesture, Hon. Oyewo expressed his appreciation to SCOBA for bestowing him with this honor on account of his achievements in the education sector.


In a statement issued by the lawmaker's Media and Communication Office, Rep Oyewo noted that this action of the alumni is not only encouraging, but also heartwarming.


The federal legislator leveraged the moment to clear the air on a recent allegation claiming that he superintended over the construction of a substandard six-classroom block in his alma mater. 


According to him, “I only attracted the project to my Constituency. Lawmaker's do not award nor execute constituency projects. If there are any observations regarding the construction work, the federal government agency empowered by law to implement and supervise the project, as well as the contractor who executed the job, are in the best position to make clarifications," the lawmaker noted.


The APC chieftain concluded his statement by assuring concerned constituents that all issues relating to the newly constructed classroom block at Saint Charles are currently being addressed, as the government agency and contractor involved in the implementation of the project have been contacted by his office.

OSUN GUBER POLL: REP OLUBUKOLA OYEWO WOOS VOTERS FOR GOVERNOR OYETOLA, MEETS MAJOR STAKEHOLDERS IN OROLU & IREPODUN

 As the clock ticks towards the Osun governorship election day slated for July 16,  the lawmaker representing Oṣogbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has visited major stakeholders in his territory to canvass support for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.



The Osun federal parliamentarian, who was accompanied by his aides and supporters, met with traditional rulers, political leaders and front-line members of sociocultural groups in Orolu and Irepodun as part of efforts to ensure Governor Oyetola emerges victorious in the forthcoming poll. The tour took place on Friday, June 24, 2022.


Among notable groups and individuals visited by Rep Oyewo included the Orolu-In-Council, Ifon Progressive Union among others.


The lawmaker and his entourage were warmly welcomed by members of the Orolu-In-Council led by High Chief Tunde Oyetunji, who is the Eesa of Ifon-Orolu Kingdom.


While addressing traditional leaders and influential personalities present at the gathering, Rep Olubukola Oyewo emphasized that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has performed creditably well and therefore deserves another term in office. He called on all eligible voters in Ifon, Erin, Ilobu and environs to come out en-mass on the election day to support the All Progressives Congress (APC)and its candidate. 


"Permit me to use this auspicious occasion to seek your support for my political party, APC and its candidate, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in the July 16 gubernatorial election. I implore all distinguished personalities present here today to work for the success of our performing Governor. The people of Ifon-Orolu Kingdom have a lot to benefit when the governor is eventually returned to serve for another four years, " Hon. Olubukola Oyewo assured.


The Ifon-born politician further noted that Oyetola's scorecard in his first term in office, especially in the area of governance, infrastructure development, poverty alleviation, welfare of civil servants and pensioners, poverty alleviation, health care and lots more has further demonstrated that he is committed to delivering his campaign promises.


Speaking during the event, High Chief Tunde Oyetunji thanked the lawmaker for deeming it fit to consult leaders of the town over the coming gubernatorial poll. The Eesa of Ifon-Orolu Kingdom charged all inhabitants of the area to ensure the forthcoming election exercise is a peaceful and violence-free one. He appreciated the effort of Governor Oyetola, Rep Oyewo and other political office holders in bringing development to Osun.


Despite heavy downpour, the legislator covered several neighborhoods in Orolu and Irepodun to reach out to influential persons and drum support for the actualization of Governor Oyetola's second term bid.

The Member representing Osogbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has written to congratulate Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru PhD. as he celebrates his 50th birthday on Friday.


Hon. Oyewo conveyed warm felicitations to Senator Basiru and prayed that God grants him many more years of commendable service to the people of Osun and Nigeria.



“On behalf of my family, and my entire constituents, I express warm felicitations to you on the landmark occasion of your 50th birthday anniversary.


He said Senator Basiru is a dogged, outspoken and unrelenting fighter for the establishment of democratic tenets of freedom, justice, equity, mutual respect, Due Process, Rule of Law and Constitutional Federalism in our country.

Bukoy Organizes Interdenominational Prayer Session For Gov. Oyetola’s Reelection

A member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo (Bukoy) on Friday, organized a special interdenominational prayer session for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s reelection bid ahead of the July 16 gubernatorial election in Osun State.


The well-attended event saw religious leaders including the Chief Imam of Ifon-Osun, Imam Adesina Muheebulahi; alongside the Chairman of Ifon-Osun Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), intercede and pray for the victory of Governor Oyetola and Rep Olubukola Oyewo in the coming polls.


Oyewo, who represents Oṣogbo Federal Constituency, during the special prayer, held at APC Meeting Center in Ifon-Osun, equally charged all inhabitants of Orolu and other parts of his territory to support the second term aspiration of Governor Oyetola.


The legislator, who is a staunch loyalist of the Osun State Governor, noted that prayer is essential to achieve success in all human endeavor, adding that Oyetola is ordained by God to take Osun to greater heights. He further stated that the tremendous job Governor Oyetola has done in his first tenure would ensure he emerges victorious at the poll.


According to the host, “Since God is pivotal in all human endeavors, I decided to organise a special prayer for the success of our performing Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, who is seeking a second term in office.”


He urged all sons and daughters of Ifon-Osun to pray and work hard for the return of a governor who has shown over the years that he is determined to meet their yearnings and aspirations.


The federal parliamentarian leveraged the prayer session to remind his constituents of his intention to run for another term, but saying what was paramount to him at the moment is the re-election bid of the Governor, whom he said had done tremendously well in the development of Osun.


Speaking on the importance of prayer, Imam Adesina Muheebulahi stressed on the need for all humans to commit their desires to Allah. The cleric described Governor Oyetola as a God-fearing leader who has been ordained to win the next Osun guber election.


In attendance at the gathering were APC leaders, community heads, youths, market women and other groups from Ifon-Osun, Ilobu, Erin and Oṣogbo.


Immediately after the interdenominational prayer, Rep Oyewo toured Orolu and Irepodun LGAs to solicit support from major stakeholders in the area to ensure Alhaji Oyetola is re-elected as governor.


Prominent groups visited by the lawmaker include the Olufon-In-Council, Orolu People's Union amongst others.


“As a people who desire progress for our Constituency, we must not leave any stone unturned in ensuring Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola is returned to Abere," Oyewo noted while addressing members of the Olufon-In-Council at Ifon-Osun.

The legislator representing Oṣogbo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Olubukola Oyewo (Bukoy) has extended his warm greetings to all media persons across Nigeria on #WorldPressFreedomDay.



Rep. Oyewo, in a communiqué issued by his media and publicity team in Oṣogbo on Wednesday, commended the exemplary commitment of journalists in his constituency and other parts of the country in gathering and disseminating unbiased information to citizens.


The federal lawmaker noted that the legislature will always do all within its constitutional powers to enact laws and policies that make the society conducive for fairer, safer and credible journalism.

Oyewo Congratulates Renowned Chattered Accountant, Femi Salako On Election As New National President Of Ilobu Development Union

The lawmaker representing Oṣogbo/Olorunda/Irepodun/Orolu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo (Bukoy) has congratulated Femi Salako, a renowned Chattered Accountant and financial expert on his election as the new National President of Ilobu-Asake Development Union, Ilobu, Osun State.


The federal parliamentarian, in a statement issued by his Media Office on Wednesday, noted that the emergence of Salako as head of the apex sociocultural group in Ilobu will further help in taking the ancient town to greater heights.



Rep Oyewo also noted that Salako’s experience and suitability for the strategic office is not in doubt.


" Accountant Femi Salako’s emergence is indeed well-thought-out and speaks volumes about the penchant of the good people of Ilobu for excellence."


Hon. Oyewo also said he is confident that Salako will bring to bear his scholarly intellect, network, professional and administrative experience in ensuring the smooth running of the union for the benefit of Ilobu, which remains an integral part of Oṣogbo Federal Constituency.

Easter: Oyewo Felicitates with Christians, Advocates Godliness, Love, Sacrifice

The Member representing Oṣogbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo (Bukoy), has felicitated with the people of Osun state and Nigerians in general for witnessing another Easter season, urging them to exhibit the spirit of sacrifice, which is hallmark of the Easter celebration.



Rep Oyewo, in his Easter message released in Oṣogbo on Saturday, said Jesus Christ exemplified the virtues of selflessness during his time on earth. The Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Water Resources further charged Christians to use the season as a period to reflect on their individual and collective roles towards promoting harmony, sacrifice and love, which are necessary for societal development.


While congratulating Christians for the successful completion of the Lenten season, a period of 40 days of fasting and prayer which culminated in the Easter celebration, the political representative said the Easter period offers Christians and the entire people of Oṣogbo Federal Constituency another opportunity for sober reflection.


The Osun federal parliamentarian said it is only through love and sacrifice that the people could uphold the legacy of Jesus Christ which is encapsulated in His selfless love for humanity.


While wishing all inhabitants of Osun a happy Easter celebration, Oyewo also advised them to always ponder on how best to contribute to the growth of the state.

Ramadan: Oyewo urges Muslims to pray for Nation’s Peace, Unity

 Hon. Olubukola Oyewo on Saturday in Osogbo called on Muslims to use the Ramadan fasting period to pray for continuous peace and unity in the country.


This is contained in a statement signed by the lawmaker and made available to the journalists.



Oyewo, who is representing Irepodun/Ọlọrunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal Constituency, also urged Muslims to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, to ensure the nation’s peaceful co-existence.


"Muslims should use the period of Ramadan to seek forgiveness from others and forgive those who have offended them in order to gain from the salvation of the Almighty Allah.


"As Muslims, we know the importance of Ramadan as a holy month when Allah forgives His servants of their shortcomings.”


The lawmaker urged Muslims to use the period to forgive one another of all misgivings that had happened in the past.


"Time has come for us to unite and embrace one another as brothers and sisters,” he said.


While admonishing Muslims to attune their minds to the messages of love, brotherliness and peaceful coexistence, Oyewo advised them to always be their brothers’ keepers. He also stressed on the need to continue to prayer for the government.

Bukoy Felicitates With Osun First Lady, Alhaja Kafayat, Describes her as an Amazon

Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has congratulated the Osun State First Lady, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola as she marks her 62nd year birthday.


The lawmaker in a press statement applauded the wife of the Governor for her motherly role and care for the survival of women, children and the youths in Osun State.



He noted that her numerous intervention in Osun’s quest for good governance, peaceful coexistence and empowerment of the vulnerable persons has contributed to the stability of the State.


Hon. Oyewo, who is the Deputy Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Water Resources, said the efforts of Alhaja Oyetola is evident in her various programs under Ilerioluwa Development Initiative which she champions.

Bukoy Facilitates Relief Fund for 300 Constituents

The Deputy Chairman House of Representatives' Committee on Water Resources, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has facilitated relief funds for about 300 constituents. 


In a release by his media office on Friday, One Hundred and Fifty (150) constituents had earlier received Thirty Thousand Naira (30,000) each last week through the Federal Government Covid-19 Relief Fund, while another One Hundred and Fifty (150) Constituents recieved Sixty Thousand Naira (60,000) each through the Water Resources Volunteer Scheme, which was facilitated by Hon. Olubukola Oyewo.



According to the release, beneficiaries were drawn from all the wards in Osogbo Federal Constituency, adding that the intervention was to cushion the economic effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, and further regig the beneficiaries' businesses and social well-being.


The lawmaker also assures his commitment to the economic and social development of his constituents, as he promises that more of such opportunities will still be facilitated and available to constituents in coming days.

Oyewo Felicitates with Senator Iyiola Omisore On Emergence As APC National Secretary

The parliamentarian representing Oṣogbo/Olorunda/Irepodun/Orolu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo (Bukoy), has felicitated with erstwhile Deputy Governor of Osun, Senator Iyiola Omisore, following his recent election as National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).



Rep Oyewo described Senator Omisore as an experienced, dutiful and charismatic politician who has the wherewithal to contribute to the continued success of APC.


Speaking to journalists at the Abuja venue of the Convention on Saturday, the federal lawmaker expressed his delight at the emergence of the Osun political juggernaut as a national officer of APC.


According to the legislator, Omisore will bring his intellectual prowess, vast knowledge and outstanding leadership qualities into building a stronger party at the center.


The Ife-born political leader was returned elected through a consensus arrangement reached by other aspirants who withdrew from the contest.

"Review the Privatisation of Osogbo Steel Rolling Mills, Nigeria Machine Tools", Oyewo Urges Govt

 

The Deputy Chairman House Committed on Water Resources, Hon Olubukola Oyewo has called for the Review of the privatisation of the Osogbo Steel Rolling Mills and the Nigerian Machine Tools which was done under the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo.



This was contained in a motion moved on Tuesday by the lawmaker on the floor of the House of Representatives. Oyewo noted that the companies has further became moribund owing to their Privatisation, and there's a need to visit the arrangement for the benefit of the Nigerian populace. 


The Osogbo Steel Rolling Mills, the Nigerian Machine Tools and other national assets were sold to private investors by the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo through the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE), chaired by the former Vice-President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar


Oyewo noted that due to the privatisation of these national assets, most of them, especially the Osogbo Steel Rolling Mill and the Nigerian Machine Tools has further remained moribund since it was privatized.


In his words, "Aware that without functional steel companies in Nigeria, the dream of manufacturing vehicles in the country and other machine equipment might be a mirage. 


"Further Aware that the neglect of this companies which provided jobs for over 20,000 people is having a serious negative effect on the people and the economy of the nation. The sales of these companies should be reviewed on these premises.


The lawmaker asserts that many jobless youths will find something to do if the sales of these national assets are reviewed towards optimal utilisation, as it is said that an idle hand is the devils workshop.


In his response, the House urges the Committee on Privatization and Commercialization to investigate the process of the privatization of these companies. The House further urge the Committee to liaise with the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE) with a view to work on modalities to revert the privatization of these companies.

Oyewo Congratulates Constituents on New Year Celebration, Urges peaceful Coexistence

The Member representing Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal Constituency of Osun State, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has called on Nigerians to see the year 2022 as a year of hope and peaceful coexistence with one another.



The lawmaker who is also the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources made this known in a statement issued by his media office to celebrate the New year tagged “A Year of Hope”.


In his new year message, Oyewo said: “I want to use this medium to extend my greetings to Nigerians, the good people of Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal constituency as well as my party the All Progressives Congress (APC).


“I also want to appreciate the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, for their sacrificial service to the country and the state respectively, in the past years and in the New year,” he added.


The lawmaker also used the occasion to ask Nigerians to continue to pray for the progress and peaceful coexistence of a one united Nigeria, just as he reassure his Constituents of his unwavering commitment to continue to deliver dividends of democracy.


According to him, “the year 2022 has ushered in a new year and a new hope for a country blessed with her natural resources as I look forward to delivering more dividends of democracy promised during my campaign."


He said the nation needs to begin the year with prayers and supplications for more commitment and sustenance of achievements made in the previous years and in the New year.


“I call on all of us, particularly my constituents to continue to offer prayers for our nation and our leaders; and to be hopeful that the year 2022 will usher in more peace, as we continue to make laws that will improve the living condition of our people.


“I hereby wish Nigerians particular my constituents a peaceful and prosperous New Year as we continue to pray and support Mr President’s and Governor Oyetola's administration and policies towards the success of their administrations.”
